Q. What is Saint Vincent College Crowdfunding?

Saint Vincent College Crowdfunding is an initiative of the College that supports fundraising for student-driven projects across campus. Crowdfunding project and campaign ideas are submitted for consideration through the application. Approved projects work with and have support from the Office of Philanthropy and Alumni Relations.

Q. Which organizations can participate? How will donations be distributed?

Recognized Saint Vincent College clubs, teams, or departments can participate in crowdfunding by submitting the required application materials. A college budget account is required in order to direct funds. Groups can use a gift account that is associated with a unit, department, program, or center.

Donations to these campaigns will be disbursed from GiveGab to Saint Vincent College, where funds will then be directed to the correct club, team, or department account. 

Q. Who can donate?

Anyone! We encourage all alumni, parents, family, students, faculty/staff, and friends to help projects and initiatives meet their goals. Your gift will make a positive impact for the Saint Vincent community.

Q. Who will receive my contact information?

The organization(s) you choose to support will have access to your name and email address. This information is used solely to send thank you messages, provide the option to receive future notifications, and to notify you of future activities.

Q. Is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes, all gifts to Saint Vincent College are tax deductible by law. You will receive an automatic email that will serve as your receipt for tax purpose. If you have questions or did not receive this email, please contact the Office of Philanthropy and Alumni Relations at annualfund@stvincent.edu for assistance.

Q. What is GiveGab?

GiveGab, which is becoming Bonterra, is a nonprofit giving platform that helps nonprofits to raise money, engage donors and manage volunteers quickly and efficiently. GiveGab offers a full portfolio of simple and easy to use products that allows organizations to function in a more streamlined manner.

Q. Do I need to create an account with GiveGab?

No. You do not need to create an account to make a donation. The benefits of creating an account include having your tax receipts collected in one location, being able to track your donations, follow the charities you support, and engage in future volunteering and donations. Your tax receipt is emailed immediately upon processing your donation. To claim a donation as a deduction on U.S. taxes, you should retain the donation receipt as an official record.

Q. Can I make donations via a mobile device?

Yes! Simply visit crowdfunding.stvincent.edu on your mobile device.

Q. How much of my gift goes to initiative I am supporting?

GiveGab retains a 3.5% campaign management fee from all gifts. Credit Card processing fees are an additional 2.5% + $0.30 for all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover). ACH processing fees are an additional $3.00 flat fee. You are given the option to cover the fees, and if you choose this option, 100% of your online charitable gift will go to the receiving organization. All gifts are final and cannot be refunded. Any gifts processed outside of Saint Vincent College Crowdfunding gift period, through GiveGab.com or subsequent recurring donations are subject to transaction fees outlined on the GiveGab.com pricing page: http://info.givegab.com/pricing.

Q. What if my preferred organization is not listed?
